Marvel released the final trailer for "VisionQuest" on Tuesday, closing out the promotional run for the series with a spot built around one line: the android's admission that he inherited the original Vision's memories but none of his character.
"Vision was a hero," the character says in the trailer. "An Avenger. I have his memories, but not his virtue."
The line frames the show's central conflict. The Vision who returns here is the rebuilt, colorless version last seen in 2021's "WandaVision," reassembled by S.W.O.R.D. and reactivated with the synthezoid's original data intact — but without the emotional history that made the first Vision who he was.
That original Vision, played by Paul Bettany across three Marvel films and the 2021 Disney+ series, died twice on screen: once at the hands of Thanos in 2018's "Infinity War," and again when Wanda Maximoff destroyed his body in the same film, only for Thanos to restore and kill him a second time. The white reconstruction that emerged from S.W.O.R.D.'s lab carries his code and none of his attachments.
Bettany has anchored the role since 2015's "Avengers: Age of Ultron," voicing and playing the character across seven appearances. "VisionQuest" marks his first headlining project in the franchise after more than a decade as a supporting player.
The trailer's release caps a promotional cycle that has leaned on the character's identity crisis rather than action set pieces, a shift from Marvel's usual marketing playbook for Disney+ series. The studio has not confirmed a release date in the trailer itself.
Marvel has been rebuilding its television slate after a 2023-2024 stretch that saw several Disney+ shows underperform, including "Secret Invasion" and "Echo." The studio has since slowed its output and refocused on established characters with built-in audiences.
Vision's arc remains one of the franchise's few storylines to run continuously from the Infinity Saga into the current phase, connecting "Age of Ultron," "Infinity War," "WandaVision," and now "VisionQuest." Bettany is the only actor to appear in all four.
