Ayo Edebiri attended Saint Laurent's Fall 2025 runway show during Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday, wearing a floor-length black gown that was high-necked and covered in front and cut open at the back. The Emmy-winning star of "The Bear" sat in the front row alongside other guests as the French house showed its latest collection.
The look drew attention because of its contrast: a modest, tailored front paired with a dramatic backless cut. Edebiri, 29, has become a fixture at major fashion events since her breakout role on the FX series, and her outfit choices now generate the same kind of coverage once reserved for actors with longer red-carpet histories.
Saint Laurent is in the middle of a leadership transition. Anthony Blazy took over as chief executive of the brand, which is owned by Kering, and creative director Anthony Vaccarello remains in charge of design. The company has been rebuilding its presence at live fashion events after several seasons of digital-first presentations.
Blazy framed the brand's approach in terms that went beyond clothing. "Not to go too philosophical," he said, "but I think there is a space for poetry, beauty, joy, and it's a good remedy to the dark time. I think fashion should gi—" The remark, delivered during the Milan show cycle, positioned Saint Laurent's output as a response to a broader mood rather than a purely commercial exercise.
Kering has leaned on Saint Laurent as one of its strongest performers while its largest label, Gucci, works through its own turnaround. The conglomerate reported weaker luxury demand across several markets in 2024, with Chinese spending in particular slowing. A high-profile front row helps a brand hold attention in a crowded calendar.
Edebiri's appearance also reflects how streaming-era actors have become central to luxury marketing. Her awards run for "The Bear," including an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, gave her a public profile that fashion houses can attach to a single appearance. Saint Laurent did not disclose whether she has a formal contract with the brand.
Milan Fashion Week runs through early March, with Saint Laurent among the houses showing before the schedule moves to Paris.
